In one of the most extensive user surveys online, with more than 235,000 respondents, American Express card was voted one of the worst credit card companies by Americans.

Most complaints were targeted at the American Express company's unwarrented discontinuation of card services, without any reasonable explanation or any justification whatsoever.

The letters that were sent out to customers simply mentioned that the decision for cancellation was based on information obtained in a credit report from the consumer reporting agencies. No further information was provided, respondents claimed.
