Offshore Merchant Accounts allow international customers to purchase goods or services in their own or in other currencies, thereby avoiding the uncertainty of variable exchange rates and traditional conversion charges that banks charge, often unnecessarily exuberant.

In Italy and Germany domestic companies who wish to accept card payments which are valued and settled in a specific (single currency processing) or variety of currencies (multi-currency processing) can arrange with their national banks and by paying a nominal fee, they can have access to this facility. Demand for this type of service has increased dramatically in the last few years given that Web companies have easy access to global markets through the Internet.
